Welcome to Snarkfest

Welcome to my snarky corner of the web. Join me as I discuss everything from wine to chocolate. There may be a few other topics mixed in there too. I talk a bunch about my amazing offspring, 24 and 21. I sometimes go on and on about my secret crush on the amazing Mike Rowe. I talk about things that irritate me or things that make me happy. Sometimes I just talk to hear myself talk. Feedback is always appreciated but please make sure it's respectable. No nudity or profanity. I'm the only one allowed to be profane. But any and all snark is welcome and appreciated!

Followers?

So here is a question for all 33 of you who are 'Followers' of my blog. I quit Google+ because I'm an idiot and couldn't get the hang of it. I don't know if being on Google+ has anything at all to do with being a Snarkfest Follower, and I'm not exactly sure what happens when you BECOME a follower. Can one of you (there are 33 of you, I'm really hoping SOMEONE can) tell me what exactly happens when you become a Follower? Do you get my blog delivered hot and fresh to your door (email?) or in your reader? I know that if you go to 'Subscribe via Email' using the 'Subscribe' widget, it goes through Feedburner and you have to enter your email address, and then you have to confirm using the link Feedburner sends you, but what exactly do you get when you 'Follow'? Anyone? Can anyone tell me?

  1. I have your blog added to my reading list on my Blogger.com Dashboard. So if you post a new blog, I see a link to it in my reading list. I don't use Google+ either. I can tell you that I subscribe to Diary of a Mad Woman's blog entries, and I will get an email of the post (usually several hours after the actual post). I hope this helps, but it probably didn't ;)

  3. And let me add, that it takes me mroe time to figure out the words algorithm to post a comment on your page than it does to read your posts. Those things are tough!!!! I normally need 2 or 3, prove you arent a robot pictures before I get one I can actually read.! LOl

    1. I'm so glad you're not a robot. I actually have to type that shit in sometimes on my own darn blog. THAT shouldn't be allowed.

      Thanks Stef!

  5. I'm here from the hop and I want to thank you for the laugh. I've only been blogging for 3 months and I was stuck at 16 followers for quite some time. I kept posting on my FB page "to all my friends and family: please join my blog as a follower. It does absolutely nothing for you but it will make me feel better".

    1. LOL hey, whatever it takes to get more than just my mom and my kids to subscribe and follow! Welcome to my world. I promise I will stop by your blog this weekend when I have time to enjoy reading.

    1. Well with Blogger, at least on my page anyway, if you look on the right side of the page under Followers, it has all those little thumbnail pics and says Members (37) (yay, I got another 4 since I posted this blog post!). But I don't know if some of them get me in their email and some get me in their RSS feeds (of which I have only a vague understanding).

Either way, I just wanted to see how the whole following thing worked.

And don't you dare sell yourself short, lady. I <3 your blog!

    1. I'm going to college to get my Masters in Blogology and will then teach classes to clear up the confusion.

Or I may just pour another bowl of Corn Pops and lie on the couch. Rough choice. ;)

  9. I'm so glad someone else is as clueless as I am. I am on Google Plus or whatever it is, but I wonder why as I can't see whatever anyone else posts. If I follow you (which I will) when you post it shows up on my Blogger dashboard. I have to subscribe by e-mail to get notified of your posts. I don't get all of this either, but I suppose it's fun trying to gigure it out.

Oh and I vote for the Corn Pops and lying on the couch! :)

    1. I'm telling you Kathy, I went to college. And perhaps if I stayed in college and actually gotten my degree, I'd be able to figure it out. Until then, Corn Pops and What Not To Wear will have to get me through.

  10. I tried subscribing by e-mail to my own blog from my personal accoutn and did NOT show up as a follower. I am curious about Google + too, and how all this works. I have nine followers, but I have no clue if they get me by e-mail, and I don't think e-mail adds to my stats, which I'd love...

I have just started keeping a list of blogs with blogger that I like, and when I do, it gives me the option of following publicly - so you could see me - or anonymously.

And then there's those folks who are so good they have a feed on THEIR blog of other blogs... I'm always excited when I see MY blog show up there. I'm so not there, yet with configuring my own blog.. but one day I'll become that sophisticated.

Good questions. Thanks for asking them because you're not the only one who is curious!

I do read all comments and try to respond to them. Unless you're trying to get me to visit your website: Cheap Louis Vuitton Bags. Then you can go pound sand.
