To quote my friend Tracy at
Momaical, "The Epistolarians is a group of kick-ass women writers, who are letting the world know how they think, one letter at a time." In that vein, I've written a letter to Nicki Minaj.
You can read the full letter at
The Epistolarians. Then you can tell me what you think. Do you like her? Hate her? Think she's a big old bowl of nut sauce? Let me know what you think.
I don't hate her, but I do hate the image she portrays. Personally, I hate shock and awe and I think so many of these "stars" are just that. Short on talent, but big on "shock and awe."
ReplyDeleteJae Mac, I'm Just Sayin'...(Damn!)
I agree, Jae. They are so worried about shocking everyone that talent is secondary.
ReplyDeleteI'm lukewarm where she's concerned, but I did like when she was on the Ellen Degenerous show with Sophia Grace and Rose.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see that, Eva. Was she at least human and not a plastic farce?

DeleteI like some of her songs - but the ones that get stuck in my head are the ones I can't sing out loud if my spawn are around. And she looks like a .... I don't know what she looks like. She and Lady Gaga got lost in a candy factory and mistook it for a clothing store? Maybe?
ReplyDeleteLove love love this!!!!
Joy
Great, now I want candy.
DeleteI never had an opinion about her, but after seeing the pictures you shared--wow! What is up with the wigs and the boobs? Why? Love what eviljoyspeaks said above about mistaking the candy store as a clothing store! Thanks for linking this up with #findingthefunny.
ReplyDeleteMeredith, I honestly don't get it either. I guess the shock factor is what gets the attention, whether good or bad.
